Ambition: A User's Manual
Training manual for IU Kelley School of Business MBA program
Back in the good old days of the late 1990s and early 2000s, an MBA degree was practically a guarantee of a sweet job with a huge salary. A glut of MBA programs and the economic downtown of 2008 means that current MBAs now have to hustle.

The Kelley School's Graduate Career Services office wanted to help students adapt to this new reality. We helped them by creating the Team Kelley campaign, a multimedia campaign that reinforces the office's message of hard work and taking responsibility for your own success.

We created this training manual by adapting their existing training materials into a streamlined, step-by-step training manual. The 24-page book takes students through the entire career development process, from deciding what career they want to pursue to networking, interviewing, and performing on the job.

The training manual is part of a larger campaign that includes environmental signage and a redesigned website. The new program is just completing its first year. While we can't credit for better placement rates and salaries for this year's students (we'll leave that to the improving economy), there is anecdotal evidence that it's working. Recruiters report students are better prepared, more informed, and ready to succeed in challenging new careers.
